The main obstacle in the spiritual quest is that there is no purpose other to achieve, what is already here.
For the vast majority of "scientists", there is still no return to self, but psychological escape.
I want to escape my emotional pain when I want a dad, a mom who me love, who understand me through my god, my guru, my spiritual master.
Hoping it takes me away from here.
